RV Day 67:

The excitement started early today.

We had somehow managed to park in what must be the most coveted space in the RV park. 3 days ago some lady grilled me about if I would be leaving on the date the site tag stated and what time. As the killer chihuahuas and I had been napping in a lawn chair when Karen barged into my site, it became rather noisy, and my irritation factor might have been evident. After confirming the date and telling her the time, Karen didn't leave immediately, and Lizzy and Paco were still going crazy trying to eat her, at which point I asked her to leave so I could calm the dogs down.

This morning at 6:50 a.m. another person pulled up and asked me what time I was leaving as he would like the site. I told him by 9 and told him someone else was also trying to get the site. He then asked if I minded if he parked on the site out of the way until I left. "Sure whatever" I responded and tried to get some coffee.

The spots are not reserveable, first come basis.

Time, as it inevitably does, passed and we were getting ready to leave. Pulled my site tag to find out that the 1st person had slid her tag in behind mine.

Chaos erupted!!! The camp host was drug out of bed and presented with the evidence of this reprehensible breech in campground protocals. Off he goes with the offending tag clenched in his hand and fluttering in the wind from the rapid acceleration of his golf cart.

We escaped during the chaos.

Next on our adventure was a short stop at Bucky's. Terri Nichols had told me what a great place this was. Pumps galore and all big enough to get in and out of even pulling a 40' trailer. Diesel at all the pumps and loads of food, desserts and sundry of every kind. Terri and Julia Nichols had stopped there and I needed to experience it.....

Armageddon!! The entire spring break crowd must have been there. Couldn't get to a pump. Cars were doing top speed in the parking lot cutting each other off. Others were reversing away from pumps helter skelter not looking just full throttle reverse to go somewhere. We found an area to park and went in, but the chaos was too much for me. Worse than a train platform in China at boarding time.

We are in a RV park in Marion MS for the night and will be back in the Memphis area tomorrow.
